Amanda was at the homebirths of my first two children. Ever since we first met her, there was an immediate connection in personality, temperment and values. When I found out that I was pregnant with my third child, there was no question in my mind that I wanted Amanda to be my midwife. After contacting her, I was extremely pleased to find out that my unborn child was going to be Amanda's first as a fully licensed midwife. There is so much that was right about this pregnancy and labor because of Amanda. She fully embodies natural homebirths and the power of a woman to know what is best her for and her baby throughout pregnancy and delivery. Amanda is truly a godsend!

It is difficult to come up with the words to describe Amanda and the care she provides. Having her as our midwife was the best decision we made. Amanda is patient and calm. She allows you to make decisions about your care and gives you truly informed consent about every test or intervention. I felt so comfortable having my prenatal care in my own home with my husband at every single appointment. She made us both feel confident about our pregnancy. Amanda was always there to answer a question via text or call as needed.
I was so happy to have her at the birth of our Son. Her calm confidence gave me the strength I needed when labor got tough. She always had the words to say to get me to focus on the goal. She encouraged my husband and gave him direction when he caught our baby. My favorite aspect of our birth experience with Amanda was how she allowed me to make the decisions. I was not forced or coerced into any intervention. She also did our baby's newborn exam in the comfort of our bed only when I was ready to let him come off my chest. She was patient and sweet to our baby as she checked him over as not to stress him out. Our postpartum check ups have been stress free as she comes to us. Amanda is so encouraging and helpful with us both as we navigate the first few weeks of life with our Boy.
I could go on and on about how amazing she is. Thank you for giving us the birth I always hoped for, Amanda. Baby G, Blake, and I love you forever and ever.

Informed, happy, confident and calm! This is how I felt throughout the entire process with Amanda. She's an incredible midwife. We are so thankful we found her! The appointments were great. Always on time and family friendly! My kids loved going to the appointments too. The birth was wonderful! Amanda came as soon as I called. Her presence was calming and I knew we were so safe! A healthy comfortable home birth exactly how we wanted. All the care before, during and weeks after was amazing. I am forever thankful!

Second Baby, First Home Birth

I am so happy to have found Amanda! My family and I absolutely love her, and I would recommend her to anyone planning a natural birth. Her passion for what she does shows, and she'll care for your baby like her own. This was my second birth, and when compared to the coldness and unfamiliarity of the hospital, I can't imagine giving birth any other way! I also want to mention that Amanda is prepared for hiccups. My baby got stuck in-between my legs, and Amanda was calm when helping baby and I get through it. She managed to untangle the cord, encourage me to continue pushing, and grab the resuscitator incase baby needed it. Amanda works calmly, swiftly, and effectively.

Also, I'm convinced my baby already knew who she was! Baby could recognize her voice, and Amanda's loving energy because she was/is as calm in Amanda's arms as she is in mine. If we were to have another baby, we wouldn't hesitate to call her. She's worth every penny and much more. She is such a genuine person.

Her support does not end the day baby is born, she continues to check in on the well-being of you and baby. I feel so fortunate to have had her as my midwife!

Birth Stories

Home Birth ofEmmē

On the 22nd I went in for an ultrasound to make sure baby girl was still doing 💯 since I was so overdue. The ultrasound showed she was measuring about 8 lbs 12 oz & everything looked perfect! I had my membranes stripped and was about 3 cm dilated and 60% effaced.
I woke up on the 23rd at 1:15 AM to use the bathroom. When I got back in bed, I had a light contraction- the first REAL contraction I had my whole pregnancy. They kept up every 10 minutes for an hour until I finally woke up Branson and texted my midwife to let them know it might FINALLY be time. My midwife told me to try and rest and get sleep and to keep in contact if they got more intense, closer together, water broke, etc. I told B to go back to sleep & I tracked my contractions for the next 4 hours trying my hardest to sleep in between. Didn’t happen, haha. Any time I got up they sped up quickly, but I wanted to let everyone sleep as long as possible 😂 so I went back to bed until finally at 5 AM I figured I’d get up and start getting things ready. The second I stood up, they went from about 7 min apart to 2 min apart and the intensity went from about a 4 to an 8! I said to B, it’s happening SO FAST! He quickly started filling the tub & I told my midwife to come ASAP. I remember as my mother in law changed the sheets on our bed, I was on the floor on all fours breathing through intense contractions. Once the tub was about 1/3 the way full I got in and felt immediate relief as Branson rubbed my lower back. Natures epidural I tell ya! At 6:11 am my water broke and I immediately felt the urge to push. I could feel her head and remember saying “is she stuck?” 😅 I waited for another contraction & pushed with everything I had and there she was! At 6:21 am MY BABY GIRL WAS FINALLY HERE! And she was BIG! I love @amanda_latham ‘s reaction when she weighed her. 10.5 pounds you guys!!! I knew she felt big inside me, but I wasn’t expecting that! 😂 we didn’t have time to get our photographer here, but luckily we have these shots to remember the day!
I am so grateful for the chance to birth at home & for my amazing midwife, Amanda.

Home Birth of Reagan

First off home birth was never in my future but circumstances of life placed my midwife Amanda Latham into our families heart for a lifetime. For weeks I had been experiencing false prodromal labor, which is extremely common after having your first baby. It’s where you have practice contractions for a short period of time. In my case it was 3 in total over two weeks lasting 2-3 hours long.

The day started at 1:12 in the morning where my contractions were averaging 6 minutes apart. At 2am I made the decision to let my midwife know that I was having contractions. She called me at 3am and was on the phone for about 15 minutes. We both agreed I needed sleep in case this was actual labor. I did try and sleep and managed to for about another hour. Amanda is a rockstar with me tracking and texting her each hour with updates. Only until 5am was where I managed to catch a small nap. Around 7:30am she made the decision to start getting ready and head on over. Amanda was here by 8:47am and shortly after her assistant Christina. Prior to all this I had already gone upstairs and showered just in case. When she got to the house I was already 5cm and 100% effaced and ready to go. This is pretty much where everything went quickly. My labor progressed and I was planning to have a water birth. The best part about a home birth is everything is subject to change. In my case we had a plumbing issue and I had to change my plan up. By the time of transition I was getting a little sick and finally got sick causing my water to break. Let me say most funniest moment where my midwife was in the splash zone and it felt like a balloon popping.

From there it was not much longer when I started to say I couldn’t do it and that is when I realized her head was out. Due to laying on my back her shoulder was stuck i was told I needed to get up a flip over to my hands and knees right then and there. I didn’t skip a beat and as soon as I got up my midwife was quickly able to rotate her and baby girl was born at 11:27am weighing a total of 7lbs 14oz.

Home birth has been the most beautiful thing I had ever experienced. I had watched many videos and read many different stories, but in all honesty until you have one those stories don’t amount to how emotional and beautiful it truly is. It is so much more intimate and calming. It’s also something that requires a ton of mental preparation. For a few short months My midwife prepared me mentally and I was able to apply most of which in those moments. I listened to my body and ultimately I DID IT! My body and mind are so empowered by what I accomplished in a moment of where I easily could have given up.  💗I can’t thank Amanda enough for helping me bring my sweet baby girl into the world💗. My family,  Christina Jordan and Justin were all amazing support throughout the entire process. Without out my amazing support system I’m not sure how I would have been able to get through it all. After this experience I’m so proud to say I had a homebirth.
