What are the reported benefits?

Over the years, I’ve heard a number of different experienced benefits from clients. The first placenta I ever encapsulated was 12 years ago for someone who had experience significant postpartum depression with her previous baby. She needed to take pharmaceuticals as treatment with that baby and wanted to give encapsulation a try for her next baby. She stated it was a “night and day” difference and this is when I decided to offer encapsulation as part of my services. Of course, I believe our birth experiences play a huge factor in our postpartum experience, but encapsulation can be a way to improve it as well.

How do I store my placenta until you can pick it up?

If you are planning an out of hospital birth, you’ll just need to refrigerate the placenta until I am able to pick up. Otherwise, I recommend bringing a cooler with you to your hospital or birth center to place the placenta on ice until you are discharged or pick up occurs.

What does the pick up process look like?

We can pick up from either your home or place of birth. There may be an added travel fee if you are located outside the Temecula Valley. If you’re still in the hospital during pick up, it’s best if you can have your support person meet me with the cooler in the front of the hospital.

A heads up at the onset of labor is appreciated, so we can make necessary arrangements and prepare for a timely pick up.

How long until I receive my package?

Most packages are delivered to you within 24-72 hours depending on the individual items chosen. We will be in communication with your estimated delivery window.

How many capsules will I get?

Every placenta is so unique, so I can’t promise an exact number, but the average is around 100-150 capsules.

How long will my capsules last?

Most of my clients finish their capsules by the end of the fourth trimester, however, you are able to store them for up to six months in a cool, dark place or up to 1-2 years if placed in the freezer. A placenta tincture is a great way to utilize the benefits of your placenta long-term, since this method give a lifetime shelf life.

Encapsulation

I offer two methods of encapsulation; Raw and Traditional Chinese Method (TCM). The TCM involves steaming the placenta with lemon and ginger which is believe to enhance the healing properties of the placenta. The Raw method does not involve any heat in the preparation of the placenta which is believed to preserve the nutrients of the placenta.
